Himmat Gill comes from a family of lawyers and knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in law. Drawn to advocacy by a genuine desire to help others, Himmat is committed to giving a voice to those who may feel unheard and standing beside people during some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives. He approaches every matter with compassion, determination, and a clear understanding of what is at stake for his clients.

Himmat earned his Bachelor of Business Commerce from York University in 2021 before completing his LL.B. (Honours) at the University of Buckingham in 2024. After being called to the Ontario Bar, he founded Gill Defence Law, a practice dedicated to defending individuals facing criminal charges through strategic, client-focused representation.

What distinguishes Gill Defence Law is its personal, client-centred approach. Himmat recognizes that no two clients or criminal cases are the same, which is why every matter receives individualized attention and a defence strategy tailored to the client’s circumstances. He carefully reviews the evidence, explains the legal process in clear and practical terms, and remains accessible throughout each stage of the case. Whether negotiating with Crown counsel or advocating in court, Himmat is committed to protecting his clients’ rights, ensuring their voices are heard, and pursuing the strongest outcome available.
